Background

Tabler.World is increasingly being used by clubs, national associations, regions and RTI to create activities for events that do not fit naturally into the existing activity types.

Examples include RTI World Meetings, Half Year Meetings, Regional AGMs and other regional meetings.

Suggested new activity types

Please add the following activity types:

• RTI World Meeting — Featured
• RTI Half Year Meeting — Featured
• Regional AGM Meeting — Featured
• Regional Meeting — Normal activity

The first three are major official events and should continue to be treated as Featured activities in Tabler.World. The purpose of adding the new types is to better distinguish what kind of featured event it is, rather than changing its featured status.

Having these types available through the API would also allow external systems to distinguish between World Meetings, Half Year Meetings, Regional AGMs and other regional activities instead of treating them simply as generic featured events.

External Event Website

I would also suggest adding a new optional field to activities:

External Website / Event Website

Many larger activities have their own dedicated event website containing registration, accommodation, programme, travel information and other details.

The field should:

• Accept a URL to the official event website.
• Be displayed on the activity/event page in Tabler.World.
• Be included in the activity/event data exposed through the API.
• Be optional, as most normal club activities would not require it.

Benefit

This would improve Tabler.World as the central source of structured event information for the wider Round Table ecosystem.

In particular, round-table.org uses Tabler.World data for its event listings. Having more accurate activity types would allow the RTI website to correctly identify and present World Meetings, Half Year Meetings and Regional meetings instead of relying on more generic activity classifications.

Exposing the external event website through the API would also allow round-table.org and other association or regional websites to automatically direct members to the official event website for registration and further information.

This gives us a cleaner flow:

Tabler.World → structured event data/API → round-table.org and other websites → official event website

It reduces duplicate maintenance while making event information across the Round Table ecosystem more accurate and consistent.
